Our Story

What’s our story?

Zuya (formerly known as Tasty Suya) is the original West African street food.

Our founder Leo always had a passion for cooking growing up in Cameroon, but it wasn’t until moving to Australia, where friends and family encouraged him to pursue food, that he swapped corporate life for chef whites.

We started out at music festivals, where people began to fall in love with our dishes and our good vibes. Word of mouth soon spread so we took the plunge and set up our first home at Grazeland, Melbourne.

With recipes handed down from Leo’s grandpa, we’re determined to show the world a little bit of genuine West African hospitality and vibes.

Our dishes are made with a lot of love and an authentic taste of home.

That’s what makes Zuya so tasty!

Afrobeats and how we eat

Zuya is best enjoyed with family and friends just like how we do it back home. The young and old bursting into chit-chatter and joyful laughter against the backdrop of rhythmic sounds, drums and Afrobeat music to set the tone. You can’t help but show off your latest dance moves under the sun with the aroma of smokey zuya in the air. Our mouth waters as we dish out second servings.

Let’s take you there…
